Bike Delaware partners with Transportation for America, signs in support of HR. 2724

Bike Delaware joined over 140 national, regional and state organizations, writing to request support for HR. 2724, the National Transportation Objectives Act of 2009, introduced by Representatives Holt, Inslee, and Carnahan. This legislation addresses the current and future needs of our economy, health, energy security, housing and community development, and environment, including the urgent need to tackle global warming emissions from the transportation sector. The measure establishes a unifying mission for the federal surface transportation program and sets needed and achievable performance targets, including goals to increase system safety, to repair and maintain existing assets, and to reduce congestion and carbon emissions through increased use of transit, rail, marine, and non‐motorized transportation.
